Rebecca Kearney

PGDip MBACP

Based at Regus, Tower Court, Clifton Moor, York, YO30 4XL

Rebecca’s counselling is Person-Centred which means that in your therapy sessions,  you are the expert on your life and experiences.  Her expertise involves creating a non-judgemental, honest, empathetic space to support you in working through current conflicts or challenges, with a goal of developing deepening self-awareness and compassion.  Her intention is that when you leave the therapy room, you carry with you the tools to live a life which feels kinder and more connected.

Rebecca likes to work with emotions at a depth that you are comfortable with. She understands that a relationship with our emotional selves deepens our capacity for self-care and can lead to improved personal relationships.  Noticing our emotional responses enables us to spot red flags and begin to access the peace that comes from reconnecting with our individual instincts.  This work can bring about acceptance and understanding of the impact of earlier life experiences.

Experience:

Rebecca has worked with a range of clients, aged over 18.   She has experience with a range of issues including loss, depression, anxiety, overwhelm and absence of feeling, as well as feelings of abandonment and oppression.  She has significant experience supporting men with a range of obstacles.

Training:

PG Diploma in Humanistic Counselling

Fear and the Therapist: Fear and the nervous system and its effect on our daily lives.

Return to Wholeness Workshop with Gabor Maté:  Rediscovering authentic self through relationship with the body.

Bobby Arnold

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling – BACP Individual Member

Based at Regus, Tower Court, Clifton Moor, York, YO30 4XL

Bobby is a Person Centred Counsellor that works on a relational basis, Well what does that mean? In short – He believes in the strength of feeling comfortable in the counselling space and by creating a safe, secure and non judgemental environment where trust, honesty and empathy are given freely is at the heart of Bobby’s practice. Being with the client at all times, supporting them through the good, bad and everything in between.

His approachability and humanistic philosophy, means he wants to be perceived as an equal in the partnership and he deploys this by letting clients see him as him and therefore dissolves the counselling hierarchy. This professional yet less clinical atmosphere encourages discussions to freely follow with client autonomy at its heart. Patience and understanding everyone is an individual with an honest want to understand the client’s journey is a large part of his practice.

Autonomy can only be present when the client speaks at their own pace and when they are feeling confident to do so. Listening, being human and speaking to a human is the overall priority within the environment, which enhances client freedom. The space is theirs and he sees them as an individual with individual needs.

This tailored concept also enriches the experience received and further secures the therapeutic relationship. Being real and experiencing the clients shared information: plus emotions, brings genuine Psychological Contact and an intimacy to the shared participation. These deep rooted qualities also encouraged client focus and development.

Experience.

Bobby has worked with a varied range of clients issues and because of his counselling approach, it increases the availability of practice. Some of his experience has included working with Relational issues, Traumas, Bereavement, Anxiety and Depression.
