Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need counselling?

If you feel you would like to talk to someone away from your family or friends. A counsellor can help you work through issues or problems you are experiencing.

What happens in a counselling session?

Each session is client led, specifically tailored to you. Depending on your aims for counselling they may be more reflective or directional.

How does online counselling work?

We currently offer our counselling by both telephone and Zoom link. We still offer our free initial telephone consultation to talk through the issues that you are experiencing and how we can help. We will also offer guidance of how to get the best from your online session.

Online counselling is accessible and convenient. It has grown in popularity in recent months and as clients become used to working online, they realise the benefits it can bring. It is a safe and confidential space to talk through your problems with a trained and experienced therapist, someone outside your circle of family and friends.

What issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can help with a wide and diverse range of issues. From anxiety, work related issues, depression, trauma, relationships to issues around gender and sexuality.

How many sessions will I need and how often?

It is entirely up to you how many sessions you would like. Most clients come on a weekly basis until they feel they have worked through their issue. We offer an open door to return to all clients.

What about confidentiality?

The sessions are completely confidential. The only reason to break confidentiality is if your counsellor feels you are a risk to yourself or others but will discuss with you how to seek additional support.

Do you offer concessions or discounts?

We do offer concessions to students and those on a low income with our qualified counsellors. Discounts may be available with Advanced Trainee Counsellors on placement with us. Contact us to find out more.
